上一次回港時就答應做給朋友的一張被子﹐ 這次就成著快要到她生日了﹐ 所以就來完成它用來作為她這一年的生日禮物比較有意思和紀念價值。

早在一個月多之前便動工的了。這是一張由1830塊小布片拼接而成的Queen size被子﹐ 全是用機縫和機壓線的。這一個花式做來可真難耶﹐ 光是用輪刀剪布也用了3-4天啦﹗ 拼接起來也有些難度。 這張被子因為真的很大﹐ 所以只好用機壓線了﹐ 也正因為我沒有那麼大的壓線框﹐ 就只好用free motion quilting 把壓線圖案車出來。 其實很久沒有作大作品﹐ 已經沒有練習這技巧太久﹐ 還好的是這次我掌握得還不錯耶﹐ 對比起以前還有進步呢﹐ 真開心。這次我還特意用這技巧車上了祝福的語句在被子上的邊框。不知道她有沒有看出來呢?

最後剛好在限期前完成了﹐ 真的鬆一口氣耶。可是要到寄的時候才發現那家速遞店下午不會來收件﹐ 所以只好延到下星期一才寄了﹐ 這樣子可打亂了我的計劃啦。 希望朋友可以在生日收到和喜歡它吧。

Last time when I was in HK I had already promised my friend to make a quilt for her. I know it's her birthday coming up so I may take this chance to finish this quilt to be her birthday present. This will make the quilt more meaningful and memorable.

I started making this quilt more than a month ago. This queen size bed quilt made from 1830 pieces of small fabrics using machined piecing and quilting. This is really a difficult pattern to piece. I have used 3 to 4 days just to cut the fabrics by rotary cutter. When come to piecing part, also it's kind of difficult as well. This is really a big quilt so I have machine quilted it and also because I don't have that big quilting frame so I choose to do free-motion quilting. It's been so long that I haven't done this big quilt therefore haven't got chance to practice the free-motion quilting technique. Ah ha ! I managed to quilt it not to bad this time moreover I even made an improvement when I compare it with my last bed quilt project. Yeah !!! How's nice. This time I have also free-motion quilted some greetings on the border of the quilt. Don't know if she can find it out ?!^_^

At last, I managed to have it done by the deadline which really made me more relax. But, when I got ready the package to be sent by courier then I found out that they wouldn't pick it up on Friday afternoon so that meant it couldn't go out until the week after which really ruined my schedule. Hope the package will arrive before my friend's birthday and she will love it, pleaseeeeeee !!
